I just heard from Van 2 and the weather conditions on Georgia Pass were so bad that the race was suspended for 30 minutes. Apparently visibility was zero and the trail was completely obscured with snow. Search & Rescue was dispatched to check it out and re-mark the trail. As of this posting the race is back on and Claire is about 45 minutes into her 12.8 mile leg over Georgia Pass.
Sky is mostly cloudy near Frisco but the mountains look socked in. Bring it on.
BTW - the black bean soup was delicious.

ReplyDeleteNothing like a little snow to make things memorable.
Gruber just called to say, "If you're not delirious by sunrise, you're not running hard enough."
If running 170 miles in freezing, heinous weather is wrong, you don't want to be right!!!
Go Claire!
